One of the most important cultural shifts in the post-secular West today is the growing importance of work as a primary source of individual identity, purpose, and personal worth. More often than not, it is the search for work that is bringing millions of people into cities each week around the globe. Work has become spiritual. For churches ministering in cities, integrating faith and work is now more important than ever in everything that it does -- from discipleship to evangelism to city renewal.

Abe Cho

Abe Cho is the Vice President for Thought Leadership at Redeemer City to City. Previously, he served as the senior pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church East Side in Manhattan. He is the author of the forthcoming book Joyful Resistance: A Serious Call for Happy Nonconformists with Brazos Press. He lives with his wife and four children in Hell's Kitchen and serves as a teaching pastor at Redeemer East Harlem.
