About the conference content
As church planters, we tend to like change. But if we look around today, it can feel like everything is changing all at once. Churches are being pushed to innovate and seek new ways to share the gospel, while society as a whole is both anxious for change and longing for the perceived comfort and peace of past times.
As we shaped the programme, we realised that this tension needed to be addressed. The world around us is seeking something stable, the story of a gospel that endures—even in times of rapid transformation. Especially in our ever-evolving cities.
That's why we've identified four key threads—four themes we believe are particularly relevant right now that will run throughout the conference. Each theme will be explored through breakout sessions, TED-style 'spotlight talks', and of course the keynote messages:
The Enduring Gospel & the Next Generations
These sessions will explore how we can connect with and equip the next generation of church planters. How do we keep up with the times—and even stay ahead—without being overwhelmed by all the change around us? Together, we'll look at how to encourage, equip, and release emerging leaders who are ready to face the future with hope and creativity.
The Enduring Gospel and Holistic Mission
In these sessions, we'll ask what it means to build a church that reflects the values of God's kingdom in every area of life. How can we be present in the various layers of city life? What does it take to train leaders with a theology that is embodied, integrated, and centred on Jesus? Together, we'll dig deep into how our theology shapes our mission, and how our mission shapes our communities.
The Enduring Gospel and the Leader's Soul
Leadership is demanding, and church planting often feels relentless. These sessions will focus on the spiritual and emotional health of leaders. How do we stay rooted in our relationship with God while navigating the pressures of ministry and daily life? We'll learn from one another what it means to lead with resilience, to develop healthy rhythms, and to last for the long haul.
The Enduring Gospel and Community Building
Our communities are changing rapidly—becoming more diverse, more complex, and more connected. These sessions will focus on how we build churches that reflect and respond to that reality. How can we lead with resilience in a pluralistic society? How do we cultivate vibrant, inclusive communities of discipleship and belonging? Through stories and practical insights, we'll explore fresh ways to shape the life of our churches.
